SWAB talks with… Jordi Canudas

“I am art. I am Barcelona. I am Swab ” is a series of interviews with relevant people of the Barcelona creative environment, whose aim is to enhance the cultural network of the city.

Today we speak with Jordi Canudas, founder of his own design and product studio Jordi Canudas Studio and partner of the London design collective OKAY Studio.

I am Jordi Canudas. I am art. I am Barcelona. I am Swab.

A word that describes Barcelona?
Smile.

Is your place of creation, the studio, inspired by your city?
I am lucky to have a large window through which the magical light of Barcelona enters.

If Barcelona was an art work, what would you name it?
Turislandia.. There are too many tourists (when there is no covid!!).

A place in the city that connects you with art?
The streets, the parks, the bars, the museums, theaters, galleries…. I can’t think of anything that doesn’t connect me with art, although shopping malls are the places that are the most ungrateful to me.

A message to young creatives?
Be critical!
