FOCUS TokYo - SeOUl

The project is curated by Kelvin Kyung Kun Park and will focus on the artistic connection between two countries in constant transformation, uniquely intertwining solid concepts of tradition, future, and nationalism: Tokyo and Seoul. These galleries, selected with the aim of collectively capturing the artistic essence of both cities, will contribute to weaving a visual dialogue that reflects the richness and diversity of the vibrant creative scene in these two cultural centers.

SOLO SHOW by Vila Casas

The program, driven by the Vila Casas Foundation, is born with the interest of observing projects originating from the Mediterranean. In this edition, Solo Show extends its connections by also welcoming the coastal city of Taipei. Putting into dialogue the curation of 4 spaces in Barcelona by Carla Gimeno, with 4 spaces in Taipei curated by Yipei Lee, the two metropolises come together at Swab establishing connections between their vibrant emerging art scenes.

DESIGN

The 17th edition of Swab Barcelona introduces a new program dedicated to collectible design, reflecting the current trend of integrating art and design to create a bridge between aesthetics and functionality through tangible artworks. For this initial launch, a curated selection will offer a glimpse into today’s design scene. The program emphasizes unique creations that blend aesthetics, innovation, and craftsmanship, showcasing the creative diversity that defines contemporary design culture. This new section of Swab will offer visitors the opportunity to explore design as a collectible art form, meant to be admired and integrated into everyday life.
