FOCUS EMERGING LATAM
A PROGRAM CURATED BY SANTIAGO GASQUET
Latam establishes itself as a key platform for emerging art scenes from Latin America in Barcelona. Curated by Santiago Gasquet, this program fosters dialogue between territories and highlights new dynamics in contemporary art.
The program brings together independent spaces that experiment with the hybridization of traditional galleries and new exhibition formats. Through its selection of projects, it offers a diverse and expansive vision of artistic production in the region.
More than just an exhibition space, this program serves as a platform for research and exchange, showcasing new talents shaping the current landscape. Its purpose is to create connections and enhance the visibility of emerging practices, expanding their opportunities for international recognition.

The section CAUCES EMERGING LATAM welcomed hybrid projects that showcase the rich and varied production of Latin American artists. In its fifth edition, it consolidated as a platform for exchange between six emerging spaces in cities such as Buenos Aires, Lima, Santiago de Chile, Rosario and Guadalajara. The proposals promote different management models adapted to their local contexts, ranging from formal galleries and artist-run spaces to home galleries and nomadic projects.
This year, CAUCES EMERGING LATAM was presented from the notion of fluidity, exploring how artistic production in Latin America acts as a substance that flows, spreads and adopts the specific form of each country, province, city or community, and that without attempting to define a regional identity, reflects and embraces the inherent diversity of a broad and complex territory.
From practices that explore discussions on possible identities and the use of the skin as poetic and political territory, the Amazonian-Andean cosmogony, the connection between traditions and new technologies, and the relationship between natural resources, local economies and art, sixteen artists navigate through reflections on issues of the present and provide a critical and dynamic perspective of the Latin American context within the framework of global debates.
