VASTO

BARCELONA
DESIGN

VASTO is an art and collectible design gallery acting as a catalyst for contemporary culture, defining a common ground between a gallery, a home and a gathering space for those who seek to experience creation from a new prism.
Beyond a platform, VASTO is a way of living centered around emerging and groundbreaking art and design practices and how they can become part of our daily lives.
Born as a form of digital curatorial platform in 2020, the project expanded into a new layer with CASA VASTO, a physical space located in Poblenou’s district, Barcelona in 2022.
“After years immersed in the art and design scene, traveling, discovering and collecting, we imagined CASA VASTO as an intimate space blurring the boundaries between living and working based on our understanding of how creativity moves. We aimed to create an atmosphere that invites people, artists, creatives and everyone who is curious enough to experience art and design as a catalyst and be open to feel where it leads without boundaries.” – Carmen Riestra, Founder of VASTO.

The VASTO proposal at Swab Art Fair 2024 celebrates cutting-edge creativity, sustainability, and material innovation. The booth highlights emerging designers who are pushing the boundaries of form and function through their innovative use of materials such as aluminum, resin, and construction waste.
For the first time in Spain, we are presenting the work of Japanese designer Daysuke Yamamoto, alongside pieces from represented designers Forever Studio, Sara Regal, and Ritsch Sisters, as well as selected works by Paul Coenen. These designers challenge conventional aesthetics and sustainability practices, showcasing how industrial and recycled materials can be transformed into unique, collectible works of art that seamlessly integrate into our daily lives.
