FOCUS TOKYO-SEOUL
The White is an alternative space established in 2014 by artist Ikuhisa Sawada in Tokyo. The space consists of two exhibition rooms: #202 (4,000mm x 4,000mm) and #205 (4,000mm x 2,000mm). Initially, the gallery focused on exhibiting photography and video works, as these were the primary mediums used by Sawada, the gallery’s founder. In recent years, however, The White has expanded its activities to include painting, sculpture, contemporary music performances, book fairs, and screenings. The gallery is also actively engaged in collaborations with various artists, both domestic and international.
