Barcelona
seed program
They are a platform for new and foreign artists, fostering a community where creators from diverse backgrounds thrive. By amplifying their voices, they challenge stereotypes, celebrate diversity, and promote inclusivity. Their artists offer unique perspectives on belonging, displacement, and cultural exchange. They work with young, up-and-coming artists who understand ‘otherness,’ central to our project’s genesis. Their exhibition program in Barcelona showcases various disciplines: ceramics, textiles, video art, installation, painting, and sculpture. This pluralism fosters exploration of formats and techniques. They aim to challenge traditional art notions and promote a broader understanding of identity.

“Objects of Desire: A Study of Transition” highlights objects and their ever-changing symbolic value. This booth explores how social conditions influence the importance of objects. Luis Renteria, a Mexican artist, uses textile artworks to examine how we assign value to objects and how this value shifts based on societal needs. Silvana Trevale, a Venezuelan artist, works with the symbolism of objects, seeing them through emotion, not for what they are when inert but for what they mean to the person holding or wearing them. This proposal delves into how objects protect, charm, and define us, showcasing their evolving symbolic value.
