SILICA
cannes
seed program
Silica was created in 2023 by Franck Vitetta, an art advisor based between the South of France and Italy.
At the crossroads between private art consulting and a spaceless gallery, this hybrid project came alive to promote a new generation of artists. Selected for their talent and their clear-sighted vision of our transitional society, Silica aims to be the symbolic platform for their artistic thoughts on the occasion of ephemeral exhibitions. Silica always tries to create a sensitive connection between the art we display, the architecture around and sometimes even with the city where Silica is running its exhibition project.

Flore Saunois (1987), Alice Magne (1998) and Alexandre Zhu (1993) are sharing a poetic approach to a hypothetical future.
They are anticipating the scenarios of tomorrow’s world with their own sensibilities, while using quite different artistic processes.
If Alice Magne imagines a world where only the flower exists to paint, Alexandre Zhu offers in his drawings a meditative immersion in an uncertain future world: his advertising billboards are emptied of their content. Appearance and disappearance is also one of the key themes in the subtle work of Flore Saunois who explores the materiality of language through her conceptual installations.
