The exhibition ‘Cut me to pieces’ was born out of the need to shine a spotlight on the role of women in Albanian society. It analyses certain behaviors typical of patriarchy, especially during the celebration of the marriage rite. Marriage, in fact, contains several crucial elements where the subordination of women to men can be captured. The artist narrates the exhibition as if it were a ceremony narrated through painting. Small elements of everyday life such as an ashtray or glasses take on a different aspect. It is precisely in the banality of these elements that a system with a macho basis is encapsulated and grows.
