Halfhouse is a non-profit space dedicated to the development of projects in the field of contemporary art. Founded in 2009 by artists Sinéad Spelman and Alberto Peral, the project has been developed in the house-home-studio of its founders. Over the years, this space has hosted, presented and held workshops for both national and international artists.
One of Halfhouse’s most outstanding activities is its annual residency, carried out in collaboration with Eremuak, providing Basque artists with a platform to show their work and connect with the city’s artistic community.

I began to observe the microcosm. How do beings know how to sustain life? How do my bones know how to grow, how do my cells know how to move together? Of what beings am I composed? Am I a collage? Am I one, am I many, am I what I am not? What will I become, who will swallow me up?
I see that without a membrane each being dissolves; within each membrane is the water separated from the other waters and recreates itself. Dissolved it is devoured and transformed. The soft outline of the drawing envelops, it is membrane. Collage is scissors and union between parts.
If art can be a vehicle for the beauty of life and the fear of the deadly, it can help us to sustain life?
