emerging PROGRAM
The Alessandro Albanese Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in Milan and Matera since 2019.
The Milanese gallery is located in the centre of Milan, at the address Via Cosimo del Fante 14, inside a historic and elegant building. The second exhibition space is located in Matera, at the address Via XX Settembre 25, inside the ‘Palazzo Caropreso’, a building of historical and cultural interest.
The first gallery of the Albanese family was founded in 1986 in the city of Matera, a World Heritage Site and European Capital of Culture 2019. Alessandro continues the path started by his family by opening a second location in Milan in 2019, focusing on the new languages of contemporary art by young international artists, promoting their work for the first time in Italy.

The Alessandro Albanese gallery for its first edition of Swab 2024 presents three artists: Erin Armstrong (Toronto, CAN, 1990), Emily Rudnik (Los Angele, CA, USA, 1995) and Mattia Sugamiele (Erice, ITA 1984). The works of the artists chosen for this exhibition project will dialogue with each other, mixing pictorial tradition with the reinterpretation of a digital world that increasingly characterizes the habits and customs of contemporary society.
