a-topos‘
Paris / Marseille
emerging PROGRAM
A-topos’ was born as a collective operating in pair and based on a duality of backgrounds, generations, itineraries and sensitivities. Sharing observations and issues, taking up challenges and aiming for common objectives, the members of a-topos’, John Tayeb and Gaya Goldcymer, decided to create their structure. This is how they, individually or collectively, stayed and worked internationally and how these crossings of territories, cultures and societies allowed them to open up their projects and collaborations with emerging artists as well as recognized ones. But also as part of the Galerie Épisodique in Paris which they run in parallel.

‘’ NON-PLACES ‘’
An exhibition echoing Michel de Certeau and his notion of non- places : of no-places. The works of Amélie Bernard and Arthur Hoffmann is in perfect resonance with these in-between places, these places of transit, where nothing seems present but where everything nevertheless happens. From Hoffmann’s Terrains Vagues series to Bernard’s Trough the Gates series, the viewer is led towards unexplored territories, abandoned or neglected but loaded with intimate or historical fragments. Non-Places : the place where non-places have the potential to become places. It is on that ambiguity, on that perpetual balance that the artists are playing with.
