Swab Barcelona is pleased to present, with the support of Fundación Banco Sabadell, the prize for Swab Barcelona 2012 Best Gallery. This new award, that we will present in the fifth edition of the Fair, will consist of the election, by a jury, of the Best Gallery at Swab Barcelona 2012, and the acquisition by Fundación Banco Sabadellof a work of art from the winning gallery for its collection. The collection of Fundación Banco Sabadell has over 6.000 works of national and international artists. Among the first highlights José Maria Sicilia, Joan Foncuberta, Miquel Barceló, Juan USLE or Juan Muno. Among the latter, Anis Kappor, Richard Serra or Dan Graham. The president of the Fundación Banco Sabadell, Mr. Miquel Molins Nubiola, Ph.D in History and Theroy of Art and Director of the MACBA ( Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona) from 1995 to 1998, will chair the jury of the prize.

Fundación Banco Sabadell is one of the main sponsors of Swab Barcelona since 2010. The mission of theFundación Banco Sabadell is to promote  training and research in the social, educational, scientific and cultural fields addressed to the whole society. In the cultural area, the Foundation sponsors programs and collaborations that aim to promote the development of the arts, culture and heritage conservation.
